This is probably the first song I wrote for the band, ie with these guys in mind as I wrote, especially drummer Dan Thress's ability to translate Latin and Brazilian percussion rhythms to a drum set. I love his opening drum lead in, and the beautiful lock between the drums, bass and cello.
This is a story
but the pieces of the story just won't go together
this is a fable
but it's lying like a sleeping dog under the table
this is like a puzzle
where the pieces of the puzzle just won't go together
this is a fable
but it's lying like a sleeping dog under the table
you can try for happy endings
if your cry is from the heart
and in time it comes together
just before it falls apart
